Job Description:

teamwork. We are currently seeking a Redhat Engineer / Unix Admin /
System Admin for our client in the IT Services domain. We value our

position and the client is looking for someone to start

Role: Redhat Engineer / Unix Admin / System Admin
Role Description: The Redhat Engineer / Unix Admin / System Admin
would need to have at least 5+ years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive support of customer environment, including
alert and ticket review and remediation, capacity planning, patch
planning, upgrade planning, tuning, applying best practices and
optimizing monitoring.
- Maintain a multi-site Linux and VMWare ESX environment to meet
appropriate service levels.
- Plan, test, tune, and configure Operating System.
- Serve as account-specific SME.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for the environment.
- Provide 24x7 on-call tier-3 supports for the Operations Center
and participate in off-hours maintenance and remediation
activities, as required.
- Enforce change/problem management and compliance processes and be
a technical advocate for the client. Continually improve service
relationship with the client.
- Work with client technical team to assess requests and create
change requests or other procedures as needed.
- Continually improve the environment through upgrades and
expansion as needed.
Required Skills:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining Redhat
Enterprise Linux 5 (with experience in 4 and 6 preferred as well)
in enterprise production environments. RHCE preferred.
- Extensive experience supporting VMWare ESX 3.5 and 4.x
environments, including HA.
- Sound working knowledge of network infrastructure and operations,
including DNS, firewalls, Ethernet, TCP/IP, email
- Sound working knowledge of monitoring technologies, preferably HP
OpenView.
- Must have very strong problem solving skills and be able to own a
problem through resolution and post-resolution analysis and further
remediation.
- Must have very strong scripting skills and experience with
operations automation.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
