Job Description:

The Pharmacogenomics Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will optimize medication therapy for patients using advanced genomic information. Responsibilities include pharmacogenomic assessment, medication therapy optimization, patient counseling, and research and education.

• Pharmacogenomic Assessment: Evaluate patient genetic information to identify potential drug-gene interactions and inform medication selection and dosing.
• Medication Therapy Optimization: Develop personalized medication regimens based on a patient's genetic profile, considering factors such as drug efficacy, toxicity, and adverse effects.
• Patient Counseling: Educate patients and their caregivers about the importance of pharmacogenomics and how it can improve their healthcare outcomes.
• Research and Education: Participate in research projects related to pharmacogenomics and medication therapy. Contribute to the education of other healthcare professionals.Requirements include a PharmD from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, completion of a PGY1 and applicable PGY2 specialty residency or a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, TX Pharmacist license or eligibility, preceptor license, CPR-BLS certification, and BPS certification within 1 year of employment.
